THE TORONTO BLUES SOCIETY PRESENTS
BLUES IN THE GARDEN
WITH THE UNDESIRABLES
Who: The Undesirables
What: Blues In The Garden:
An afternoon of free blues in the beautiful Artscape Garden.
Where: Artscape Garden, 900 Queen St. West (home of the TBS office)
When: Saturday September 16, 2006, 3-6PM
How much: Free
The Artscape Garden is a hidden Queen St. treasure and the heart of the vibrant community of artists and arts communities that inhabits 900 Queen St. West. Artscape opened 900 Queen St. West - the first legal artist live/work building in Toronto - in 1995. The re-development of this former warehouse helped trigger the revitalization of a downtrodden part of Queen Street West. Eight years later, 900 Queen is in the heart of a burgeoning new gallery district. 900 Queen West is a stunning example of affordable housing that works. The sense of pride and ownership felt by its tenants resonates beyond the walls, through its spectacular garden and deep into the community.
The Toronto Blues Society and Worlds of Music Toronto will be hosting a professional development workshop for artists who are interested in participating in In The Schools programs or doing other work in classrooms and educational settings.
Interested artists should contact the Toronto Blues Society by e-mail or phone for more information.
