Johnny Max hosts "Jammin' For Sick Kids" at the Port Credit Legion, part of the Southside Shuffle's fundraising for the Hospital for Sick Kids. This year's special guest is Johnny Pennino. Members of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Downchild joined Johnny and company during last year's Jam. Jammin' for Sick Kids Friday takes place Sept 8th and Saturday, September 9th, 10 pm til 3:00 am at the Port Credit Royal Canadian Legion, 35 Front St N, Mississauga. $5 Cover with all proceeds benefiting the Hospital for Sick Children. In addition to providing the deep bass groove for Downchild, Gary Kendall fronts his own band at venues around town and throughout Ontario. This month the Gary Kendall Band play the Festival of Beer at Historic Old Fort York, on Saturday, August 12 at 4:30pm. The festival features a variety of live music with two other blues shows in the programme - Michael Pickett, Friday at 4:30 pm; and Harrison Kennedy, Saturday at 2:30 pm. GKB also plays Grossmans August 4, Fireman's Park in Niagara Falls August 24 (7:15pm), Chicago's East in Oshawa on August 25, plus Whistlers in T.O. every Thursday in Aug (except the 24th).
