| When Magic Slim plays Toronto it's a guaranteed party! He returns to the Silver Dollar Room on July 8th with his band The Tear Drops. With no International Blues Festival this summer, Blues fans can take some solace in the fact that The Silver Dollar Room will pick up the slack by presenting some great blues. Long time Toronto favourites Jack de Keyzer (July 9) and Paul James (July 16) appear in July as well as this years Juno Award winner Garrett Mason (Dutchie`s son) (July 23) and African Blues featuring Madagascar Slim, Donne Robert and Ndidi Onukwulu (Jul 15). | What better way to wrap up the summer blues festivals than a smokin' set from the Fabulous Thunderbirds, long overdue back in this area. Kirk Fletcher, Jimi Bott, Nick Curran, Kim Wilson, Gene Taylor and Ronnie James Weber is the current lineup. They play opening night on the Fram Slokker Main Stage at the Southside Shuffle, Friday, September 9. They will be preceded by a tribute to Ray Charles featuring John Mays and Shakura S'Aida and JUNO winner Garret Mason. |
