Freddie Roulette, one of the blues' most unique and unforgettable listening experiences plays jazz mecca Top O' The Senator June 4-8. His eight-string lap steel, tuned
to an A7 chord, has provided a subtle, ethereal atmosphere in a backup role when called upon. But when he unleashes his careening, cascading flights of solo fancy,
the experience can be so dizzying that the only thing listeners can expect is the unexpected. An inventive and technically dazzling musician, he's kept a low profile in
recent years, but his 1997 CD Back in Chicago brought him critical acclaim and new fans in contemporary blues circles. He'll be backed by
Howard Willett, Mitch Lewis, Dennis Pinhorn and
Bucky Berger.
