Mississippi Heat always put on a great show when they come to Toronto. The line-up now features vocalist Inetta Visor along with some hot new players from the Chicago blues scene, Kenny Smith, Steve Howard, Chris Winters, Michael Thomas and, of course, founder Pierre Lacocque on harp. They'll be at the Silver Dollar Room on Saturday, April 19
	The Granary Blues All-Stars make their Toronto debut at Blues on Bellair on Friday, April 25. The band is named after their their long-standing residency at a bar of the same name in the Vankleek Hill area of the Ottawa area. Co-leaders of the band are Terry Gillespie, founding member of the legendary Ottawa band, Heaven's Radio and guitarist Brian Monty, who is also a world-renowned guitar maker. The rhythm section is multi-MBA winner/nominee Stephen Barry on bass and his long-time bandmate Gordie Adamson on drums. Harp player/attorney Martin Boodman provides wailin' harp and legal advice.
	The first of three "Ken Whiteley Sunday Gospel Series" Sundays takes place March 30 at 2:00 p.m at Hugh's Room with special guests Colin Linden, Jackie and Melisa Devost. On May 4, Ken's guests will be West Virginia's Ginny Hawker, Amoy and Ciceal Levy and brother Chris Whiteley. On May 25, Calvin Cooke and his Detroit Sacred Steel Ensemble, featuring his wife Grace Cooke and David Wall and Pat Patrick. George Koller will be the bassist for all three afternoons. This Sunday Gospel Series is the realization of a long time dream for Ken, who has been hosting gospel workshops at folk festivals for years.
