the Faculty of Fine Arts, York UniversityParticipants in this innovative programme will spend a weekend learning what goes on "behind the scenes" of a major festival. As part of a small group, they will meet artists, producers, writers and teachers and take part in activities that will enhance their experience of each festival weekend. Sessions take place Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings, leaving Friday night and the rest of the weekend free to enjoy all that each festival has to offer.

July 4 to 7
Join Grammy Award-winning York professor Rob Bowman and special guests David Barnard and Steve Gash from the Toronto Blues Society during the Labatt Blue's Festival, presented by Chicago, Illinois, for talks about blues and the urban folk revival; this year's festival programme and the diversity of Canadian blues culture; and the universality of the blues.
Register by June 25; weekend workshop fee is $100.

Travel the world - all in one place - during World's Fare: A Feast of Food & Culture with York dance historian Selma Odom, Middle Eastern music specialist George Sawa and featured artists. Sample the cross-currents of Asian music and dance and explore the range of Toronto's diversity. You'll also discover how a festival of this scale is created.
Register by July 2; the fee for the weekend workshop is $100.

Delve into the moves, tastes and textures of Ritmo y Color: A Latin American Arts Festival with musician Rodrigo Chavez and featured guests from the Latin dance and music scenes. Discover the vibrancy of intercultural connections in the arts of Central and South America.
