Letters

Dear TBS,

I want to thank everyone who organized, attended or supported the benefit at the Silver Dollar on Jan 30, especially Al Lerman - who convinced me to come back for the event - and Gary Kendall along with Derek Andrews who worked hard to orchestrate a successful night. I also want to tip my hat to the Whiteley Brothers, Colin Linden, Michael Pickett and Fathead for performing and caring about me. Special thanks to Encore Music Exchange for the surprise gift of a cool l'il National Ozark guitar - just my size!

In early January I flew to California and found two similar Fenders that will produce a good working guitar. With your kind help - I'm back in business!

As I told everyone at the benefit - I moved to Nova Scotia - not away from Toronto. This city, and its musicians shaped my whole career. I was also fortunate enough to see Wolf, Muddy, Brownie & Sonny, Lightning Hopkins, Bukka White, Son House, John Hammond, B.B., Jr. & Buddy, Johnny Shines, Albert King, Willie Dixon, Albert Collins, and many more - right here in Hogtown!

Leaving my friends will be very tough. I am returning to Toronto in May to play Chicago's May 11-12 and the Blue Goose May 13. Look for me - I ain't about to retire!

Thanks again.

Yo' fren'

Morgan (Davis)
